On Friday, the provincial New Democrat's Gucci socialists will be paying $99 to attend the Vancouver Lonsdale and Seymour constituency associations' first annual Carole Cruise with party leader Carole James. That cruise is being held aboard MV Britannia, which will be renamed the Carole Ship for the duration of the event. The price of admission includes a buffet dinner featuring everything from smoked oyster toasts with roasted red peppers to garden fresh vegetable crudites. But that's not all. According to the event's promotional brochure, "comedic singers will be on hand to sing satirical songs about Gordon Campbell and his minions. Auction items will include a Gordon Campbell dartboard - not available for sale anywhere else" with the proceeds going to "help the North Shore NDP build their war chest with the goal of electing a NDP MLA in Lonsdale." Hmmm...things seem to be getting personal. The following is a copy of that brochure.
Come Join Carole On Friday, November 26, for an evening of fun and festivities aboard the MV Britannia
The North Vancouver Lonsdale and Seymour Constituency Associations proudly present the First Annual Carole Cruise. This fundraiser will help the North Shore NDP build their war chest with the goal of electing a NDP MLA in Lonsdale. The event will include: a great dinner buffet, socializing with NDP'ers from around the lower mainland, spending time with Carole, listening to live jazz, and having some fun at the Liberals expense.
Do your Christmas shopping early, by buying some fantastic items at the silent and live auctions. Tickets are $99 and include a $49 tax receipt. For reserve tickets, please use the handy form in this brochure.
Carole Cruise
A fantastic opportunity to talk with Carole and mingle with New Democrats from around Vancouver. In the spirit of the Christmas season, we are going on a Carol Ship - not just any Carol Ship - we're going to be on THE Carole Ship. As we listen to live jazz and eat from a varied buffet menu, we can discuss the joys of the season - specifically getting ready to elect a NDP government in May 2005. This will also be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the outcome of the Surrey-Panorama Ridge By-Election. Comedic singers will be on hand to sing satirical songs about Gordon Campbell and his minions. Auction items will include a Gordon Campbell dartboard - not available for sale anywhere else. So come on board and get ready for the best NDP Party of the year - the 2004 Carole Cruise!

Hey Sean, being a socialist doesn't mean you have Italian shoes or must be poor. The idea is that we should all rise to higher heights by hard work etc. etc. why don't you buy a ticket and head out with them. I seem to recall the New Era gang collecting big bucks to get the treat of watching Gordo wave his hands around and tell folks BC is the best and 2010 will really solve everything. His baby the RAV line shows us all just what great business planners those guys really are.
No I'm not buying a ticket as I live over in little old Victoria.
DO I read your stuff, sure. And usually it's not bad. But it apperas that the NDP are on the rise so it's time to start bitching about them too. Mind you your trade needs stuff to write about.
With the NDP's complete lack of a position on basically any issue, and the fact that BC is in the best shape it's been in for 10 yrs (thanks to the NDP's "Decade of Decimation" - the 1990's), I'm not surprised things are "getting personal". They have nothing else to go for except trying to belittle and ridicule Campbell and the Liberals.
Good luck NDP, but all I see cruising out into Coal Harbour is a "Ship of Fools".
Interesting point though: I don't see any mention of the "BC Salmon Canapes" being wild....D'arrrr Carole, it could be the fearsome farmed salmon ye be warnin' us about!!
Wouldn't that be a lovely irony if the event planners forgot to request Wild salmon? I enquired and the charter's preferred caterer uses farmed salmon unless requested otherwise.
Could Carole be going hungry this weekend?!?!
If Surrey-Panorama is any indication Jim, the ship of fools would be the Liberals, not the NDP.
It's funny how the diehard NDPers just cling to that Surrey-Panorama win. The fact that the NDP paid canvassers, had big unions enlisting members to canvass in a largely blue collar riding, and pushed the ethnic vote , doesn't seem to have anything to do with the win. It was because 'the people have spoken' or some other socialist drivel.
The Liberals have accomplished a whole lot of major, positive acheivements for BC in the last 3 years. The NDP have won Surrey-Panorama in a by-election. Wow. Oh, and lets not forget the NDP also single handedly accomplished the complete economic destruction of this province in the 1990's and turned BC into one of the worst off provinces in Canada. That was a pretty major acheivement.
capitalist drivel:
Oh, and lets not forget the NDP also single handedly accomplished the complete economic destruction of this province in the 1990's and turned BC into one of the worst off provinces in Canada.
Fiberal parrots at work.Lots of labour sqwuaking and repetitions about the previous administration to hide their own sorry agenda from the public.
Maybe I`m a disgruntled Liberal.
Maybe, but I seem to remember you posting on other threads with more of a lean to the left.
But hey, if you are, I hear there's a great meet & greet boat cruise this weekend.
I`ll see you there maybe?
